About Lu Rosslyn
I am a Tarot professional who focuses on intuitive and empowering readings. I blend my knowledge of the card meanings with my intuition, the question of the client, and the collaborative process of our time together, in order to help the client explore and hopefully gain some insight into the situation at hand. I believe that a collaborative reading can be very powerful as it allows for the activation of the client's subconscious and for the client to tap into their own inner wisdom. I do not do purely predictive readings. Rather, I focus on translating and interpreting the messages in a Tarot spread to the help clients tap into their own subconscious and inner wisdom, so that they can access their own sense of agency and personal power as they navigate their lives. If this approach sounds good to you, please contact me to learn more or book a session!
Regarding the Lu Rosslyn, it is not my given name. It is a name that is very meaningful to me, which I chose to use in order to intentionally differentiate this work from my professional life in another field.
Lu is a name that I have used throughout my life, and so feels very familiar. It is also associated with words in various languages for ‘moon,’ associated with the feminine, with cycles, and with mystery.
As for the name Rosslyn, I love Rosslyn Chapel in Scotland, which has been associated with hidden knowledge as well. It is a chapel that was initially built by a family to be used as their personal chapel. However, at a certain point, they were given the option to either give it up or be excommunicated from the church,. Rather than destroy it, the family abandoned the chapel, and it was left to the elements for hundreds of years. However, it survived and was eventually reclaimed and renovated. It is a chapel full of engravings and symbols, and has even been associated with the Templar Knights. It is also an incredibly beautiful building, with an immense amount of energy. Like the Tarot, it has a history of being stigmatized and misunderstood. And like the Tarot, it speaks to the complexity and mystical nature of human existence.
There is also an illustrious history of the use of pseudonyms. Did you know Mark Twain’s name was Samual Clemens? I like the idea of choosing my name based on what is meaningful to me, as a way to embody my work in a particular field. I also like the way it rolls off my tongue!
